Number sentences


We have been learning to write a story to match a given number sentence.

    49 + 6 =
1.  Jack had 49 cards. Sete gave him 6 more. How many cards  does Jack have now?

    67 - 19 =
2.  Kim had 67 diamonds. Lasalo stole 19.  How many diamonds does Kim have left?

    146 - 68 =
3. There are 146 apples on the apple tree.  Sixty eight of them fell to the ground. How many apples are still on the tree?

   230 + 145 =
4. A factory made 230 computers on Monday and 145 on Tuesday. How many computers did the factory made on these two days.

    4 x 5 =
5.James had 4 boxes of tarts.  In each box, there were 5 tarts.  How many tarts did James have altogether?

    18 divided by 6 =
6. Sete had 18 lollies.  He shared them between his 6 friends.  How many lollies did each of his friend get?
